Dr. Tang is a strong believer in building supportive research communities and giving back to the field.
She currently serves as a Representative-at-Large in the Corporate Strategy Interest Group of the Strategic Management Society (SMS), where she organizes the Corporate Strategy Masterclass series and the SMS Junior Faculty PDW.
She was a member of the Membership Engagement Committee (MEC) of the STR Division of the Academy of Management (AOM) from 2020-2023, where she helped organize several STRonger Together initiatives, including a Professional Development Workshop (PDW) on research grants worldwide.
Dr. Tang is on the editorial board of Organization Science and the Journal of Organization Design, and is an ad-hoc reviewer for journals and conferences including the Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Management Science, and Strategy Science. She has received the Best Reviewer Award from the IM Division of AOM for her reviewing work.
At NUS Business School, Dr. Tang organizes the strategy seminar series for the Department of Strategy and Policy and serves on the department recruiting committee. She has also served on the PhD dissertation committee for Xiaoteng Wu, whose first placement was at Peking University. Prior to joining NUS, Dr. Tang was an active member of the doctoral community at The Wharton School, where she co-founded and organized the Wharton Innovation Doctoral Symposium (WINDS), the leading student-run multi-disciplinary doctoral conference on innovation.
